Preservation in Practice
A Commitment Beyond Our Own Kennel
At Mockingbird Border Collies, we believe that responsible breeding is about more than the dogs we produce. It is about the future of the breed we love, the community that sustains it, and the resources that help future generations make informed decisions.
Our commitment to the Border Collie extends beyond our own breeding program. Through education, collaboration, preservation efforts, and initiatives that serve the greater breed community, we strive to leave the Border Collie better than we found it.
We believe that meaningful contributions begin with action, and that the future of the breed is a responsibility we all share.
The Breed Archive: A Resource for Generations to Come
Preserving a breed's future begins with understanding its past.
Recognizing the value of accessible pedigree information and a centralized resource for Border Collie enthusiasts, Mockingbird Border Collies took the initiative to help bring the Border Collie to The Breed Archive.
Working in conjunction with The Breed Archive team, we helped drive the effort to establish a dedicated archive for our breed—creating another resource for breeders, owners, researchers, and enthusiasts who value pedigree research and the preservation of the Border Collie.
We are grateful to The Breed Archive team for their time, collaboration, and work in helping bring this initiative to fruition. Projects like this are a reminder of what can be accomplished when people who care about a breed come together to build something that serves its future.
“Preserving the Border Collie means looking beyond the dogs we have today and taking responsibility for the breed we leave behind.”
