Who we are
I've been immersed in the dog world my entire life, with Border Collies by my side since childhood. What began as a casual interest in dog sports quickly grew into a true passion—one that has earned me multiple BCSA Versatility and Champion Excellent Awards, Owner-Handled Group Placements, and dozens of titles across ten different venues and sports.
At Mockingbird Border Collies, my focus is on producing well-rounded, versatile dogs that excel in the field, shine in the sport or show ring, and thrive as loving companions at home. I believe versatility is a defining trait of the Border Collie, and I’m deeply committed to preserving that quality in every puppy I raise. I’m also proud to share that Mockingbird Border Collies is the first-ever Border Collie breeder to be certified by the Better Breeder Institute—a reflection of my commitment to responsible, ethical breeding and the long-term health of this incredible breed.
Our Core Beliefs
We believe that dogs deserve to be mindfully bred, healthy, and stable. We believe that dog owners deserve healthy, happy pets. We strive to produce well rounded dogs that can thrive in many homes and sport venues.
We also firmly believe in letting our dogs accomplishments speak for themselves. We do not embellish our dogs awards, and do our best to never use misleading phrasing when discussing our dogs. If we claim it, we have the proof to back it up!
Why Versatility?
We believe in practicing what we preach, which is why we emphasize titling and awards in our program. We strive for all of our dogs to earn the BCSA Versatility title as a bare minimum for inclusion in our breeding program, with many dogs far surpassing this goal.
We strive to produce the true do-it-all border collie, one that can go from the couch to the ring and to the field, and feel the best way to prove we have done that is to exhibit our dogs in a multitude of sports and venues.
