Truly a once in a lifetime dog, Finn has accomplished so much with limited time, resources, and a very green owner.

Finishing his championship in just a few short weeks with nearly all majors, a grand championship that led him to wins over some of the top dogs of the time, and a bronze grand championship with multiple owner handled group placements, he has excelled in the show ring.

However, Finn is more than a single sport kind of guy. What started as a way to kill time during lockdown has blossomed into a stellar rally career. With over 70 consecutive rally Qs, he is quickly nearing his first performance championship-a RACH. While on his trek to a RACH, he has picked up several High Combines and High Triples in very competitive classes.

But the ring isn’t the only place he thrives, he is no stranger to the herding field. Finn has finished a title at every herding trial he has attended, sometimes multiple. He holds his own with difficult sheep but also exhibits the restraint and technical talent needed to succeed on ducks. He is burdened with a novice handler, but consistently saves me when I make a mistake.

You couldn’t ask for a better temperament than Finn’s. He gets along with dogs, cats, and strange people are just friends he hasn’t made yet. He is frequently found making puppy eyes at anyone he thinks will pet him. He has been used as a neutral dog to assist in rehabilitating reactive males and is my go to puppy babysitter. Being handed off is no problem, Finn will work for anyone who knows his words (and will try even if they don’t).

He is a wonderful ambassador for the breed. I cannot count the times I have been told,”I don’t want a border collie, but I do want a Finn.” He is everything I believe a border collie should be; a sound, solid dog that is easy to live with and easy to work with. Below are a few of his career high points!
