Purpose Bred. Thoughtfully Placed.
Our puppies are raised with intention; we prioritize homes that value training, consistency, and lifelong partnership.
At Mockingbird Border Collies, placement decisions are made with care, not speed.
We are committed to producing puppies that become stable, confident partners for life. To ensure a great match, we ask prospective owners to complete our inquiry form fully.
Note: Completing this form is the first step in understanding your goals and ensuring alignment with our breeding and development philosophy.
Waitlist & Application Policy
-
Applications are open year-round.
Submitting an application allows us to learn more about prospective homes, goals, lifestyle, and what you are looking for in a future puppy. Because our breeding plans are carefully considered and litters are limited, submitting an application does not guarantee puppy availability.
Approved applicants may be offered placement on our waitlist.
-
A $100 waitlist deposit is required to secure a place on the waitlist.
This deposit:
Confirms serious interest in a future puppy
Helps us plan future litters and maintain communication with committed homes
Will be applied toward the final purchase price of your puppy
-
Waitlist deposits are nonrefundable except in the event that we is unable to provide a puppy within a reasonable timeframe. We consider a reasonable timeframe three years.
Examples may include:
No suitable puppy becoming available
Planned litters not occurring
Significant changes to future breeding plans
-
All puppies from Mockingbird Border Collies are sold with a written contract tailored to the individual puppy and placement type. Our contracts are designed to protect the long-term wellbeing of each dog while clearly outlining expectations for both breeder and owner.
Placement types may include:
Show Prospects
Show prospect puppies are placed in homes interested in conformation competition and breed preservation. These puppies may be sold on specific terms regarding titling, health testing, breeding rights, or co-ownership arrangements depending on the individual dog and home.
Sport & Performance Homes
Sport prospect puppies are placed in active homes pursuing activities such as agility, obedience, rally, disc, dock diving, herding, or other performance venues. These placements prioritize temperament, athleticism, structure, and drive suited for competitive performance homes.
Companion Homes
Companion puppies are placed in loving pet homes where the primary goal is lifelong companionship. These puppies may be sold on limited registration and may include spay/neuter requirements outlined within the contract.
We may be a good fit if you:
Value structure, temperament, and consistency equally
Have a commitment to ongoing training and socialization
Seek a long-term partnership rather than a pet only
Appreciate intentional breeding practices and our program philosophy
