Puppy Information

We tentatively are planning a litter in 2025. If you are interested, please send me an email at mockingbirdbcs@gmail.com. Introduce yourself and what you are looking for. If I am not going to be able to meet your needs, I may be able to refer you to someone else.

Puppies are matched with homes based on personality and conformation. Show and sport homes are given priority, but there is a chance for pet puppies in each litter. If you are interested in a show or sport dog, please mention that in your email, as well as giving a history of your involvement in sports.

You can see an example of our pet contract here, our sport contract here, and our show contract here.

Our next litter is tenatively planned for late 2024 or early 2025. Please reach out for more information.

Puppies are fed Iams Proactive Health puppy food, and are sent home with a sample bag to ease the transition to their new kibble. We strongly suggest feeding a diet that meets WSAVA guidelines.

Along with the sample of puppy food, your puppy will come home with a few other necessities. You will receive their genetic testing results, a copy of their pedigree, and a copy of any OFA certificates that have been issued.

All puppies born at Mockingbird Kennel participate in OFA's DNA databank and AKC's genetic diversity project. This means that your puppy will be permanently recorded in the OFA database, and its DNA used to further research. You will be provided with copies of this paperwork.

Puppies will not go home until some basic health testing is completed. This includes a CAER (eye exam), a BAER (hearing test), a basic cardiac exam, a patella exam, and a full Optimal Selection DNA panel. My goal is to do as much health testing as possible at 8 weeks, and have the results publicly available prior to a puppy being matched.

Puppies are sold on limited registration or full registration with a co own contract. I do not sell service dogs under any conditions.
